Short version: we collect what you type into our two forms, we use it to send you updates, and we never sell or rent it.
What we collect
We collect only what you choose to type into one of our two forms.
The membership form asks for your name, email address, and consent to receive updates. It optionally asks for your phone number, your town or community, your tie to Lowndes County, and what concerns you most about the project. Only name, email, and consent are required.
The contact form asks for your name, email address, and message, and optionally a topic.
This site does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party cookies. We do not build profiles, and we do not track you across other websites.
Why we collect it
Membership information is used for two things: to send you updates and meeting reminders, and to maintain an accurate count of how many neighbors have asked for full disclosure before a vote. When we describe the size of that count in public, we describe it in aggregate. We do not publish members' names, addresses, or messages.
Contact information is used to reply to you and, where you have sent us a document or a correction, to follow up about it.
Who else touches it
This site is a static site hosted on Netlify, and form submissions are processed by Netlify Forms. That means Netlify stores your submission on our behalf and it is subject to Netlify's own privacy terms. Nobody else receives it.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your information with any other organization, campaign, or company. If we ever begin using an email delivery service to send updates, we will name it on this page before we do.
How long we keep it
We keep membership information for as long as this effort is active and you have not asked to be removed. We keep contact messages for as long as they are useful to the record, and we delete them on request.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw consent to updates at any time. Write to us and we will do it. We do not require a reason.
Children
This site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this page
If we change how we handle information, we will change this page and update the date below rather than changing our practice quietly.
